MUSK!
Anyone who knows me well, knows how much I love musk. Sure, the real thing is far different than musks in perfumery now, but boy oh boy, are they good! If you’re not familiar with the story of musk in perfumery, here are a few links:
First of all, real musk is no longer used. Yes, it doesn’t sound too appealing, but if you understood the importance of musk in perfumery, your...

Jardin sur le Toit (A Garden on the Roof)
The new Hermes perfume is out! The latest addition to the undeniably popular garden series. I’M SO EXCITED!
I am an all time fan of Monsieur Ellena, he is a genius. No doubt about it. I’m heading out to Holt Renfrew ASAP! (April isn’t that far off, right?)

Tips on buying perfume
1. Never try on more than 5 in one trip, because your nose becomes too saturated otherwise.
2. It’s better to go perfume shopping in the morning or early afternoon, that’s when your sense of smell is at its clearest.
3. Try dabbing (not rubbing) your fragrance on your left wrist. It’s easier to smell what you put on because your blood pumps faster on that side.

1. They’re from Montreal (many of them have origins elsewhere)

Created in 1992 by Pierre Bourdon and the amazing Christopher Sheldrake of Serge Lutens.
This perfume has been reviewed many times over, it’s been tremendously popular because of it’s first-time use of a high level of cedarwood. It is also a total masterpiece.
It has had quite the journey, since it was first created as a Shiseido product...

The Makings of You
I’m at a point in my life where things have slowed down in terms of production of work. That’s only because I’ve moved back to Montreal, and I’ve had a long year filled with more creativity that I could ever imagine. I’m getting back on my feet now, and I’ve been working on custom made fragrances for my friends, because what better way to share the love than...

Archives 69
Ok, so I’m really really into reading all kinds of perfume blogs. I have learned way more than I expected over the years and I love staying up to date. Ca Fleure Bon is one of the best, because the editors have a lot of great connections, excellent writing skills and have direct contact with many of the great perfumers.
I came across Archive 69 by Etat Libre D’Orange, a brand that is...
